Building Capacity of Nagarpalikas

Despite the fact that AUDA's role is limited to undertaking planning and infrastructure development, people expect it to fulfill all municipal functions, such as solid waste management, maintenances of roads and maintenance of other infrastructure.

In fact, these functions are supposed to be carried out by Nagarpalikas and Grampanchayats within AUDA area.

Implementation Initiatives

AUDA is taking several measures to build capacity of Nagarpalikas:

Street lighting has been installed on TP roads. This is a function of Nagarpalika or Grampanchayat
For better disposal of solid waste AUDA has identified & aquisite a spot – which could be disposal site for all nagarpalikas & panchayats.
For the better management of solid waste, nagarpalikas have been provided with tractors, dumpers, loaders, and dustbins.
Extensive cleaning is carried out at least twice a year within nagarpalika areas.
